Georgetown, TX- The Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at Southwestern University will be holding its next installment of the Leadership Luncheon Series at noon on Friday, April 11th, 2008 in the atrium of Mood-Bridwell Hall. The event will feature the Texas District 14 Senator and former Austin Mayor Kirk Watson. Senator Watson is vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security. Most recently, he was named legislative "Rookie of the Year" by Texas Monthly Magazine. Senator Watson will be speaking to the Southwestern University campus community on the topics of leadership in the legislature and law.
The Pi Kappa Alpha Leadership Luncheon Series at Southwestern University is in its second year on campus and brings notable speakers to campus to talk about leadership in different roles and careers. Past speakers have included Nobel Prize Winner Robert Curl of Rice University, former gubernatorial candidate and Congressman Chris Bell of Houston, Houston CEO of Goodwill Industries Steve Lufburrow, and Congressional Representative Pete Sessions of Dallas.
Pi Kappa Alpha created the event two years ago to enable the campus community to learn from all types of leaders by creating a setting with no agenda other than letting students interact with great leaders. Pi Kappa Alpha will be providing a free lunch to the first 50 attendees with the help of McAlister’s Deli of Georgetown.
